Do I need a brake on my inline skates?
If you are a beginner to intermediate level skater it is highly suggested that your skates have a brake attached-at least in the beginning. However, when skating in an urban, or unfamiliar setting skating with a brake is your best bet but you need to know how to use it.
Can you take the brake off of inline skates?
Unscrew the fastening screws on each side of the brake using the Allen wrenches or, if applicable, a screwdriver. In some models, the brake may be attached to the back rear axle, so you may be required to completely remove that wheel from the frame before the brake can come out.
